Yesterday in the pipe I learnt frontside 1080′s.
I’m just waiting to get the footage from my coach so in the mean time here is a photo my friend Joe took.

The dogs

It’s always nice going to the Cohen household in Vermont. It’s not the home cooked meals or the pool table in the basement. It’s the dogs! And Jenn has seven of them!
Sounds pretty crazy right?
They all have their own personalities and it’s pretty sweet just to watch them.

This is Spot, he is the oldest of them all and is really like the grandpa… He is deaf and when someone isn’t home he will sit at the front door waiting.

This is Bailey, he doesn’t really like me. He will bark at me and won’t let me pet him. He licked me one time which I was told means he likes me… But he doesn’t.

And there is Chip who is pretty quiet and likes everyone.

Buddy who is also kind of quiet but is one of the cutest.
He is kind of cheeky and loves to get into the car.

This is Gracey she is kind of the boss. When she bark’s everyone bark’s and if she is sleeping on the couch and you put the ball next to her, no one will touch it.
I wonder what she did to become the boss?

Now for Cassie… She has heaps of energy and always tries to steal Goldie’s ball and doesn’t give it back, Just to be mean. Her fur is so nice!!

I save the best for last. This is Goldie the newest addition to the family. And my personal favorite
She has more energy than anyone and always wants to play fetch. Even if she has a ball in her mouth she will try to pick up another one.

Stratton Mountain

Yesterday we went up for a fun day at Stratton. It was probably the only sunny day that we have had while in Vermont so we made good use of it.

Stratton is a pretty sweet resort it’s a lot like skiing in Australia. The snow is usually icy and a lot of it is man made.
They had a little park set up but really it was nothing amazing at all… No jumps which was disappointing.

Fireworks!!

Today after doing a few runs up at Stratton. Saul and I headed down to New Hampshire and visited a little fireworks shop… And by little I mean the biggest I’ve seen!

There are two fireworks shops one next to another and they both try to outdo the other offering buy one get one on everything!

Have a look how big it is.

I ended up getting some cool gifts from Jenn’s family and also from back home which was really good.

It was a really nice day and I had a heap of fun.

New York City!

Last night we headed into New York City for some dinner and to do the tourist thing.

Drivers in NY and NJ are pretty crazy. Everyone seems to be in a rush to get somewhere as fast as possible. And then when it’s grid locked they push as much as possible.

When we finally found a parking spot. Across the street was Flight Club NY its a pretty famous shoe store. I’ve actually been on their website a few times.
All the shoes are wrapped in plastic!

And the hat collection.

Do you recognize these from the film Back To The Future 2?
There is only 1500 pairs available and they where released to raise money for the Michael J Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research.
Yes that price tag says $6000!!

Next we headed for some food over at Max Brenner.
It was really good but the desserts where to die for!

We then braved the roads and drove down to the Rockefeller centre hoping to do some ice-skating the line was a little long for us to wait.
So we got a photo in front of the Christmas tree instead.

The Cake Boss + Chanukah

And just when you thought we had enough action for one day, we raced over to Hoboken where Carlo’s Bakery is located. This bakery is pretty famous, they have a show on TV called Cake Boss and they make really extravagant cakes. There is even a line outside!

We where there to pick up dessert for tonight’s Chanukah celebration. I got to meet the whole family!
It was a pretty fun time and we ate lots of really good food.

They do this thing kind of like a lucky dip where everyone goes round and picks presents.
You get 6 each!

We also did the lighting of the candles on the Menorah.

This is the cake we got for dessert!

Sneaker Hub Union City

Today was a long day!

We started out by visiting where Jenn grew up and the had some lunch with her Grandmother. We also paid a visit to Jenn’s father at his office in Union City New Jersey.

You can see here the original sign on the building door from when her grandfather ran the business.

Just down the street there is a shop called Sneaker Hub. This was probably the coolest sneaker shop I have been to. From the owner who calls Jenn’s mother his own, runs around the shop talking to everyone and throwing boxes at his employee’s. To the gorilla size Jordan sneakers signed by countless people.

There is also a section that houses the ‘business shoes’.

I ended up walking out with a new pair of Air Max 90 Hyperfuse.

Pretty stoked on my new purchase.

Copper Mountain Rev Tour

Sorry for the lack of posts the past few days it’s been grassy between training Gym and recovering!

But I just finished the Revolution Tour at Copper Mountain.
It was a really fun contest and I managed to see the fun side even under all that pressure which I was happy about.

I was in heat two so I competed at about 12 midday.
My practice was one of the worst I have had I didn’t land my full run until the very last minute, man that was relief!

I’ve been having trouble landing runs lately so I was stoked to be able to land my first run. When I looked at the score I got I was pretty surprised. i scored a 58 for a run that should have been around 70.

Second run we wanted to try something new and that didn’t quite work out.
But none the less I had a really fun day and I’m glad I looked at the positive side of things and tried something new.
